- Who were the two men talking in the prologue?
  - At first I thought it would be Laz and someone else, but Laz doesn't have the requisite skills/knowledge.
  - What sort of incident would cause the Veil to be weakened?
  - Could still be Laz, just need to figure out what he did
  - Why is Laz keeping the others in the dark about this person?
- Why are all the characters around the same age?
  - Magical ability is most likely to activate around that age
  - Brain stops developing around 25, the brain needs to be developed enough to accept magic but not enough that it can't develop further
